Tinubu-Shettima ticket: APC picked best victory combination, says National Chairman

APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu

In this interview with Arise TV, Senator Adamu Abdullahi, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, discusses the party's Muslim-Muslim ticket and other topics while being observed by our journalist, SEGUN ADEWOLE.

On Sunday, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, defended the party's Muslim-Muslim ticket.

According to Adamu, the party selected the most qualified group of candidates to lead it there in an interview with Arise TV.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, chose Senator Kashim Shettima, a fellow Muslim and former governor of Borno State, as his running mate two weeks prior.

The party and its candidate had received criticism from organizations like the Christian Association of Nigeria.
Adamu spoke on the subject, saying, "Normally, I accept people's political beliefs and viewpoints on issues. For some reason, I cannot claim that I don't give a damn about how anyone feels. For you and I, Nigeria is this. In Nigeria, where Christians and Muslims coexist, there are multiple political parties, and each of them would put the candidates on the ballot who, in their opinion, had the best chance of winning the election. That's all there is to it. This is political. You understand that God Himself does not act in vain, whether you are a Muslim or a Christian. It is stated in the Bible, the Quran, and our Hadith. Regarding what you're mentioning, our position is What you are describing cannot be any different. We try to work to get to the desired destination with the combination of the aspirants that we have since we are human beings and we do things to the limit of our understanding and wishes," he remarked.

The APC chairman was then questioned on if the party's selection of a Muslim-Muslim ticket came about as a result of its failure to find a Christian candidate qualified to run for president.
